The difference between steel elbow and steel bending pipe

Steel elbow: The most commonly used is seamless elbow, which is divided into long-radius elbow and short-radius elbow. Among them, long radius elbow is the most commonly used elbow and its application is also very wide.
Steel elbows are divided according to specifications: small and medium-sized ones are seamless elbows. At present, the diameter of domestic seamless elbows is 40", which is Φ1020, that is, in the range of DN15-DN1000. Large specifications are generally steel plate butt welding elbows. This process can also be divided into long radius elbow and short radius elbow, and the specifications involved are: around DN500-DN2500.
The use of steel bending pipes is more special than elbows, but the two types of pipes generally do not conflict.
Distinguishing of steel bending pipes: Distinguishing according to R: r is the radius, usually starting from 3D until the size required by the working conditions, that is, R is infinite as long as it exceeds 3D. According to the distinction of angle, the angle is not limited, and there is also a difference between seamless and seamed. Generally, it is seamless small size, large size using seams, such as spiral welding, etc.
According to production technology: medium frequency hot bending technology, seamless pushing technology, CNC machining technology.
The difference between elbow and steel bending pipe:
1. Let’s talk about the process first: the process of the seamless elbow is hot pushing, cold pressing, and hot pressing, and the process of steel bending pipe is medium frequency bending, hot pressing, and CNC bending. Among them, carbon steel is the most commonly used elbow in pressure pipes, alloy steel is hot pushed, stainless steel is cold pushed, and the most commonly used process for steel bending pipe is medium frequency bending.
2. The difference in scouring intensity: The R of the elbow and the steel bending pipe itself are different. R is a position that controls the length of the elbow and the steel bending pipe. The scouring intensity of the small R passing through the medium is much greater than that of the large R. In other words, the erosion strength of the 1D elbow is not as good as that of the 1.5D elbow. The erosion strength of the 1.5D elbow is lower than that of a steel bending pipe, and the steel bending pipe is more resistant to erosion and wear than the elbow.
3. There is also a special case, such as bridge type. A long-span steel bending pipe needs to be used to cross over. At this time, elbows cannot be used. General hot pipes also use steel bending pipes.
Steel bending pipe has different uses in different industries. It can freely extend further with the advantage of bending, and the strength of the building will also be reduced. Steel bending pipe is widely used in electric power, petroleum, navigation, chemical industry, and other fields. It is mainly used for oil transportation, natural gas transportation, and infusion, and plays an important role in aircraft and their engines.
